Dog Days

Having a moment of writer’s block (I’m close to 50,000 words into “A Cure for Chaos” Book #2 of the Mother-Earth Series) and the phrase “dog days of summer” popped into my head for some reason. It got me to thinking about our family dog Lady, who passed away last February. We have one and a half cats (I say a “half” because one is an outdoor cat we see only once or twice a day) but I find I’m very much missing having a dog around.
