Your Voice Matters (YVM15)

This week we turn our attention across the pond! Fife Youth Radio was founded by 17 year-old Ricky Williamson in 2010, according to a recent article from Fife Today in the UK, and has attracted over 85,000 listeners online.

The youth-led radio station has helped young people by getting them off the streets and enabling them to learn new skills in radio presenting and production.

About the project, Ricky says:

Young people are coming here and are learning new skills and having lots of fun at the same time and the station is making a real difference by bringing the local community together and empowering young people to do something themselves.

The station is funded through a partnership with Think Big, an organization sponsored by O2 in the UK that seeks to find and support youth with big ideas. The station has a Facebook page and you can listen live here!
